Confirmation 2018-2019

2018-2019 Confirmation Registration & Release Form

Dear St. John’s Youth and Families,

Welcome to confirmation! We have great hopes for the year ahead, knowing that God will bless your time together.  When you were brought to the baptismal waters, your parents, sponsors, and congregation made some awesome promises with God....

to live with them among God's faithful people,

bring them to the word of God and the holy supper,

teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments,

place in their hands the holy scriptures,

and nurture them in faith and prayer,

so that your children may learn to trust God,

proclaim Christ through word and deed,

care for others and the world God made,

and work for justice and peace. (ELW 228)

Wow! These promises are huge and exciting! These things will help you grow in your faith in Jesus and help you understand the unconditional love that is given to you as a child of God. Working together, we can all make sure these promises are fulfilled.

St. John's Lutheran Church is ready to help you make these promises a reality. We also encouraged you to invite friends and neighbors to join and participate in our confirmation ministry as well. Last year, we focused on The Ten Commandments and this year we will concentrate on The Lord’s Prayer.

All students should bring their Lutheran Study Bibles to class on Orientation Night and every class session which follows. Any student who has not received the Lutheran Study Bible, please let Pastor Linda know and we will make sure one is presented in our first class. The cost of these Bibles and materials is included in your registration donation.
